Job Description

Job Overview

To provide maritime expertise on a regional basis to Vivo Energy (VE) Operating Units (OUs) to ensure that maritime operations are conducted to the highest Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) standards, to protect the Company's reputation and to optimize commercial performance.


Principal Accountabilities:

The principal accountabilities assigned to the Marine Technical Lead (MTL) are:

Conduct or facilitate assessments of marine facilities and submit the report to the VP HSSEQ amp; AMTA evaluation and follow-up on inspection findings.

Inspect coastal Cargo Transport Vessels and barges and support businesses in optimizing the contractual performance of shipping service providers.

Assist business HSSE focal points in developing and reviewing the maritime HEMP and/or safety case, ensuring that controls and risk responses identified are appropriately managed too As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP).

Provide maritime technical advice and support

Promote and support businesses in the implementation of the Marine terminal management self-assessment (MTMSA), and compliance with the Company HSSE Control Framework.

Provide support to the businesses in the investigation and follow-up of maritime incidents.

Promote relationships with relevant local and national authorities.

Participate in VE site inspection submitting company status, in respect of inspection bookings, inspection report review and release, invoicing and invoice recovery.

Requirements

Job Knowledge, Skills amp; Experiences:

A maritime professional qualification is essential, preferably a Master Mariner, with seagoing experience in senior rank (Chief Engineer, Chief Officer, or higher). Alternatively, an engineering degree with maritime expertise

Candidates should be experienced in successfully managing hydrocarbon transport amp; cargo handling operations.

Good interpersonal, team building, coaching and communication skills, flexibility, and understanding of working with different cultures in a geographically spread area.

Good analytical, communication amp; presentational skills with a proven ability to work as an individual and lead or work as a team member are required.

Fluent in both English and French
